Septic System Design Services

Commercial Septic Design

A quality design is the first step in achieving the best system for your site. We care about designing the lowest-cost system possible, while also meeting your desires regarding the impact on your property. We begin with a customer conversation to determine your needs and a site visit to assess conditions. Your particular waste strength and flow will determine how we approach the design of your system.

Special attention is focused on saving trees, fitting in with the landscape and preserving usable space around your facility. Once we determine all the options that accommodate your long and short term plans, we will review them with you and discuss their costs. Then you can decide what you want to do.

Design options include:

  • Preliminary planning to assist in project development
  • Public hearing participation
  • Clustered development to maximize green space
  • Options for collection, treatment, reuse/disposal
  • Peak flow management
  • Treatment for high strength waste
  • Operation and maintenance procedures
  • Drafting and survey map overlay
  • Sewage management planning
  • Design review with permitting agencies
  • Soil investigation for subdivision
  • Advanced controls for remote monitoring

Many commercial properties have waste strength comparable to residential and can be served by standard septic systems. Others may have high strength waste that needs special attention.

High strength waste

Commercial facilities can have a higher level of organic and chemical contaminants than typical residential wastewater.  State code requires that effluent be at or below residential strength before it is delivered to a drainfield, which would then require pretreatment.  Fortunately we have extensive experience with a variety of technologies.  We will match the most cost effective and least expensive technology to your needs.  This also provides the great benefit of assuring long system life.
